Caen … what a beautiful city under a breath taking sunshine! The first monument we visited is the "Abbaye aux Hommes". The monastery buidings are now home to Caen Town Hall. Built in 1066 during the reign of William the Conqueror, they were restored in the 18th century. In the meantime, Aba and Câu Phi went to order a sofa … .
The cloister is just so beautiful … where monks usually walked, read and pray?!
The abbey church of Saint-Etienne, a gem of Romanesque and Gothic architectures, contains the tomb of William the Conqueror … just when we enter, we were gifted with a complete "Ave Maria" of Schubert … hearing this beautiful, strong woman's voice in this empty church … makes you cry tears of emotions. The church "Saint Etienne le Vieux" constructed probably in the 10th century … you can only see it from outside.

what a beautiful couple … we think, that day, we saw at least 6 weddings!!! They were really lucky with the gorgeous weather! You can see that this bride enjoyed to be photographed! What a star =))! She's right! It's her day!
No … our day didn't finish yet … are you already tired? You know us … when we get an energy attack (happens often =)) … then … nothing can stop us =). After hugging Bà Dì Na and Ông Câu Phong, who joined us in their cottage … we left to pass at Touques, tiny little village next to Deauville and Trouville, but charming … and bumped into … another wedding!
After the quick stop in Touques, we went back to Trouville. I think, we are all in loved with Trouville.
It was just so great weather …

Today is also the "nuit des musées" (night of museums) … museums all over France are open until midnight … and free. We passed by the paleontological museum of Villers-sur-Mer. Indeed, it's the smallest museum we've ever been to … but not far away from the museum …
actually at Villers-sur-Mer is the starting point of the "vaches noires"cliffs. It contains a multitude of paleontological vestiges. It's a place universally known by specialists in the amonites and other fossils (source "Wikipedia"). Well and as it was totally dark, of course we didn't go to see … next time, we'll know ;-).
